From the First Frames of Life to STRUGGLE

My journey has unfolded at the intersection of three paths: career, communication, and the search for meaning.
During my university years, as I held my camera and witnessed dozens of babies entering the world, capturing those moments, I realized this: life begins with a cry, a tear of joy, and an indescribable excitement—and behind it all lies an unspoken hope. In those days as a birth photographer, the happiness of families and the first breath of a new life showed me the purest form of human stories. In those moments where storytelling met emotion, I aimed to capture not just the composition of each frame but the very essence of excitement and hope. Because what I was truly pursuing went beyond a profession; it was the deep meaning carried by that first moment.

The profound connection I formed with children at the start of life continues to this day. The excitement I felt witnessing a newborn’s first cry now appears in the laughter and struggles of children battling leukemia. The hope I sensed in that first cry is the same hope I feel when a child laughs in a hospital room despite all difficulties. This is why, for me, communication is more than a career—it is the responsibility to bring stories that carry hope into the world, even in life’s most fragile moments.

“Struggle” means persevering and striving with determination in the face of challenges, continuously working toward a goal. Here, struggle is not just about overcoming obstacles; it is about amplifying solidarity, love, and hope. Life itself is a struggle—sometimes against illness, sometimes in pursuit of dreams, and sometimes against the hardships of ordinary days. But the struggle at LÖSEV goes far beyond the dictionary definition. Children who recover do more than complete their treatment; by sharing the challenges they’ve faced, they inspire courage and hope in others. Mothers who have lost their children stand beside other families to ensure they do not collapse. Dreams are pursued even after illness, supported by LÖSEV, and that support lasts a lifetime. Here, struggle is not silent; it is powerful, visible, and felt in the determination of everyone involved.
If you are a communicator in the humanitarian field, you know that this work requires not only empathy but also strategy and discipline. Every campaign, every piece of content, every project is the result of meticulous planning, research, and effort—audience analysis, tone and messaging, content calendars, media selection, crisis scenarios… All of these combine to create a communication chain capable of making hope visible.

The excitement and hope I felt witnessing the struggle of life begin with a newborn’s first breath now reappear in the laughter of children with leukemia, the courage of recovering youth, and the solidarity of mothers. Every step, every share, every touch concretizes the same determination, the same hope, and the same struggle.
My call is this: what can you do to make hope visible? Share a message, tell a story, support a campaign… Even a small action can make a huge difference in fragile lives. Let us not just tell stories; let us create meaning, carry hope, and share in the struggle. Because every frame, every word, every act can become a light in a child’s world.
